Details, details.  Yes, you have to remove the light connector, probably
some other things too, but as you said, not necessary to remove the
headlight.

[You only have to take out the pipe to the turbo, take the BACK of the
headlight and rotate out the air box cover.  Fiddly, but the light stays in.
It comes out on the ur-quattro, but it's a lot easier to remove.> yea, have
to literally take out the headlight to change the air filter....
