Revisiting my 6000rpm cut-out problem - '95 S6

I did remove the hoses and inspect them carefully.  No tears or cuts that I
could see.  No whooshing or any other kind of noises occur.  ECU has never
been touched.

I agree, I'm not installing any goodies until this is fixed.  Which is why
I'm finally starting to delve into it more.
