what is causing leak in steering rack? Anybody rebuilt it?

Did you clean out the area where the hose connects to the rack BEFORE you
took the old hose off?  Sounds like something got into the rack and is
plugging part of it up enough to interfere with operation.  It's possible
something got into it from the new hose too if the assembler wasn't careful.
