5000 Instrument cluster removal

I just had this problem a couple of weeks ago.
It was hanging up across the top. Sometimes it would pop right out, others
times would require running a thin screwdriver or such around the top of the
binnicle to free it up. Jiggling etc. just didn't let it release.
I hope yours is that simple.

PS I must say that AUDI has prvided the best "service loop" for working in
there that I've ever encountered.
