No need to search the archives - just do it!  Cut and insert a piece of HVAC
filter material in the opening of the intake plenum under the plastic
cowling which is under the hood and in front of the windshield.  You will
probably find there is a filter element already there, and is now loaded up
or disintegrating or ??? for some reason not doing its job.  This is routine
mainenance, often neglected.  How often you do it corresponds to how and
where you keep the car - under roof in aseald garage, or under trees.

I'm lucky -- the only pollutants in either of my Audis are the leaves that
get sucked into the heater blower of my CGT.  They DO make a horrific noise,
though, and every so often when one crumbles it blows out into the
passenger's compartment.  I remember reading YEARS ago on the Q-list about a
solution involving screening in the entrance.  (Yes, Brett, I will look it
up on the site before asking about it. :-)
