Kerb weight that I can find is 2844lbs for an early Ur-q with 6" wheels -
then 2838lbs is listed in Walton, which also lists a 83 US model at 2974lbs.
So if we take 2840lbs as a figure for Euro, then we're looking for 134lbs -
some of it is going to be in the bumpers, but weren't air-con and power
windows standard on US models? Power windows were an option on early Euros
and air-con didn't become an option until later. So, air-con weighs in at
approx 60lbs if I remember correctly, add another 20 for the bumpers and
iron work and that leaves 54lbs to be found.
I've never believed weights - comes from having worked in the lightweight
cycle trade, where often customers would buy items _because_ they were light
(or advertised as such) not because they were any good.
Maybe one car was weighed dry and the other with a few gallons of fuel?
Just to complicate matters, its strange that I can also find 2862lb listed
for a Sport and 2200lbs in Walton.

Subject: Weight Difference Between US/Can spec and Euro Spec UrQ's
Anyone happen to know which components added/changed fo the US/Canadian
market added the 250+ pounds to the curb weight of the UrQ? I was just
poking around Martin's page and the curb weights are denoted as:
USA/Can 3040lbs
Euro 2777lbs
I think some of it may be bumpers... but where's the rest coming from?
