Yep, I've seen it on the back of an alfa, both rear rotors had been worn so
thin they seporated from the hub (therefore stopped turning with the wheel).
The owner came in complaining of poor brakes, no mention of noise.  Also
seen a few that had worn to the point the caliper piston came out of its
bore.
