WAY TO GO MIKE! ! ! ! ! ! And thanks to all of you who sent info on the A4
vs S4. I learned a lot too. Mike, get a couple thousand miles on that
puppy right away so you can have Barbara comfortably bring the car to our
next driving school! At our last school we had four (count 'em) Volvo
wagons, an A4 wagon, and two Subaru wagons (one with bike rack attached,
and yes, we ran it). It was a hoot. It was especially fun riding in one of
the older Volvo wagons in the autocross -- talk about body-roll in the
slalom! It would have been even MORE fun with some horsepower...
Shameless advertisement: The Alfa club (hey, we've got a great group and
an even greater mix of cars) is hosting its Driving School on November
3rd at Bremerton Raceway. Any of you in the Seattle/Olympia/Portland
area... this is your chance to get your teenage kids and wives (presumably
the latter are not teenage) out in a controlled situation to learn car
control skills. And it's also an introduction to track driving; we always
do an autocross in the afternoon which folks find incredibly
fun. It's cheap! About 40 bucks per driver, half price if you're female or
a teenager! Check out our website at http://welcome.to/nwarc And no...
you do NOT need to be a member of the Alfa club.
Shameless advertisement #2: We are having our last track event of the
season at Bremerton on September 9, this Sunday! The local Quattro club is
doing an autocross on Saturday the 8th -- but I haven't seen a lot of
advertisement for that event, so I don't really know much about it, am not
involved, etc. Come out to Bremerton for the weekend! You might even see a
few bears! You do NOT need to be a member to come out to our track events!
