I thought I should correct a minor flaw in this thread as it relates to
fuel. Unless you're into doing oxygen sensors frequently stay away from
gas with lead content. Do NOT use aviation 100LL (LowLead), or any of the
lead content race gases. Your O2 won't last more than minutes providing
you have sufficient quantity. Putting 2 gals in to top up a tank might let
you be OK; but I'm sure there is a ciritical PPM concentration that will
react with the O2 rendering it dead in extremely short order.
BTDT: It was a lesson that our rally-car team owner learned the hard way...
he just didn't believe his crew! We're now VERY carefull with the Sunoco
Race Fuel Truck at rallies as sometimes they get cornfused and dispense the
wrong juice.
Notable exception would be if you're using self-programmed EFI/fueling with
fixed maps no correction by 02 sensor. Then have at it.
