city lights

The standard 'City' or 'side lights' as golly old Englishters would call
them are around 4-6 watts. I think 10 watts would be maximum without
distracting others.
On my 200 with quads I wired the city's to the orange marker lights, that
keeps your car legal looking here as well.

DRL are implemented well on Volvo and Saab cars as they use the DIRECTIONAL
low beam of the H4 bulb running on reduced power. This is not the best way
to run a halogen bulb as it relies on the heat to re-combine the tungsten to
the filament after it has burned off, so they can darken with age more
running at less than full power. As Kneale pointed out they should be run
with rear lamps as well, I am sure Chebbys and such like run them to bully
other road users with non directional 900x stupid bulbs.

I seam to be sounding a little grumpy tonight, must be because the
alternator in the 200 has failed (they know you know) and the replacement A6
is still not ready for pick up :-(
