Dan,

I replaced the Metalmasters up front on my '87 4000q with Hawk HPS at
the recommendation of one of the techs at Pegasus Racing (~$45 per
set). They got a couple successful track tests this summer, certainly
a major improvement over the MMs. On the street they seem to provide
better cold braking as well.

On the downside, after my second track date I took a good look at my
rotors, which are Ate Powerdiscs. The atomic pattern on the inside is
nearly worn away. So I'd expect to budget for some extra rotors if you
go with the Hawks.
