heh. until my lazy bum gets around to wirin' in some relays for my
headlights, my little
girl Bette would eat through a headlight switch every 6 months, they melt
apart
internally. fortunately, the first time mine did this the switch did not
melt
to the socket.
to solve this problem, i created a copy of a dummy switch that i saw once,
and this is how i work my headlights until further notice. the
obvious downside is that one must always plug one's lights in and they arent
easy to
just flip on. you can stretch the life of the switch a bit by positioning it
a bit between
the 1 and 2 options on the switch, ie when the switch in is position #1
slowly turn it
until the headlights come on and leave it in that halfway position, not
fully
in #2.
hth.
