Racing C5 corvettes, etc..

Not that this is always the case....but....
I've been on the track with C5 corvettes - both Z06 and normal C5's. At
Walkins Glen, it's difficult for me to stick with them, especially if they're
on track tires. At Limerock, though, there have been times where I've kept
up with and passed C5 corvettes in my GT. Now, that being said....I could
never drag race one. There are 5 sec. 0-60 civics, but at that point, you're
really pushing the limits of the car. And, the corvette will do it all day
long. The civic would more than likely break. This coming from one of the
few people on the list who have actually encountered a Corvette or Corvette
Z06 in anything more than a stoplight war - don't mess with the Z06's -
they're scary fast, and easy to drive. A much better performance deal than -
say - an S4, unless you intend to drive the car in the snow.
It always amuses me when GTi or Civic owners tout their car's ability to kick
the ass out of some supercar.
Later!
Carter
