[Can anyone tell me if the NF/NG code engines share the same bottom end.
 ie,
would they give me the same CR with identical cylinder heads.  Thanks.]

AFAIK or can tell - two motors(NF block/NG bock) side by side, there are no
discernable differences.  The  differences are in the head, mainly NG has
2-piece intake with injector ports in the manifold, and NF has injector
ports in the head.
