driving fast (what's the fastest you've gone in a car)

Did 247 km/h for a coupla minutes on the Autobahn in a friend's 200 Avant,
while he was semi-snoozing in the passenger seat- then I had to slow down
to a mere 160 to avoid slower traffic. No problems whatsoever, car was on
original wheels and tyre size.
The 80 1.8's top speed seems to be an indicated 180 but it takes ages to
get past 140, the 90 quattro does 210 and feels great, BTDT. Goes quickly
to 160 and then much slower to 210.
