Hi listers!

We would like to formally welcome our 'new' Audi to the family. Spent a lo=
t of time looking for a Coupe GT that we could afford (which I admit is on =
the pretty low end) and finally found this poor orphan 1987.5 Coupe Gt 'Spe=
cial Build' on Ebay.
The CGT was in Arkansas when we bought her a month ago and she is finally s=
itting in the driveway (Towed here by the people longing to get rid of her=
)=2E She needs lots of TLC-definitely a woman because she's already given =
my husband a nasty bite on the pinky finger( Mind you Audi bites can be qui=
te nasty) but she WILL be running soon. (An Audi once bit my sister.) Is i=
n need of lots of parts (Alpine White) but is so gorgeous in the driveway i=
n front of the garden gnome (4000S-Automatic w/ a bad final drive) that I =
could wait quite a long time just to see her running the way she ought to b=
e=2E
For anyone who has ever gazed longingly at the rear end of an 80's coupe-ok=
ay so I'm a little loopy about my purchase-what a beautiful sight to behold=
!!!! I have been in love with the coupe and the way it drives for a while =
and I can't wait to get this one up and running. It is absolutely amazing =
what some people will do to an Audi when they don't know what they have. W=
e have yet to get it started (I'm not worried-happened with others-will hap=
pen again)-we're just glad to have it in the yard where we can play with it.
Funny Story: This may sound familiar to anyone who has pulled a fuse only =
to forget until later: Her owner had a Chevy ignition coil on her because =
(we can only assume) they had trouble starting her: CIS-III fuse missing. =
Yes, the car starts a 'BIT' rough w/o that. Bonehead lost part of the ax=
le shaft (which needs to be replaced-could have been rebuilt) and anyone w=
ho has a 'Special Build' knows that the axle matches with nothing else that=
 Audi ever made!!!

Anyway-we are not complaining!!! We love Audi's and will stand by them no m=
atter what as long as they have a manual transmission. (We are finished wi=
th trying to deal with A/T and all of the problems that they entail.) It'=
s a beautiful car with only a couple small spots of rust, 150,000 miles, di=
gital dash, and the most beautiful white leather interior (I could talk for=
hours-the front seats need to be redone-front window missing-I'm sure they=
have some ?logical? explanation?) We actually had the window at the house=
before the car (thanks to fellow lister Mark!-Thanks!)

Sorry-to anyone brave enough to read through to the end-Thanks-We love our =
Audi's-each and every one-even apologized to the 4000 for taking parts off =
of her to give to the Coupe. It's nice to know that we're not alone in our=
 obsession over everything Audi!!!
