The car is a 1987.5 Coupe GT "Special Build" The AC was completely empty when I bought it, so my local mechanic recommended retrofitting to R134A since it had a ton of bad o-rings that had to be replaced anyway. So, now I get a call from him saying that the flex hose from the condenser to the compressor is bad. He is saying that it is CLAMPED on both sides of the charge fitting. Does this sound right to you? This is on the high side and from the little I know of AC, you never use clamps on the high side, crimped only. So, are these clamps standard? If so, why did Audi do it this way? Also, is this a standard part that can be bought from places like The Parts Connection?

TIA!

Dave
