I had a similar problem recently and it proved to be a vacuum leak. Replaced
one vacuum hose and problem's gone.

Can anybody tell me what would cause my engine to stall out when pushing
the clutch in to come to a stop? My 93 Quattro 90 has been stalling out
quite a lot lately when I'm out and about around town. It always seems to
happen when I push the clutch in prior to coming to a stop. I usually just
pop the clutch or re-start at the light but it's been happening a lot. Is
this a vacume leak or a fuel pump problem? Any ideas?

Thanks.
