List management

Dan and listers et al,

Here's my take on this whole little thing.  I'm
subscribed to many email lists.  They all go through
periods of a few members getting in a huff and
leaving.

This is due to a few things.

#1  Many of us don't know one another, except thru a
print media, which isn't the best in conveying
emotions, which can mean something said in innocence
can seem quite biting.

#2  People on lists are behind keyboards and it
empowers them to do and say things they wouldn't dream
of doing in person.

#3  These lists *always* decay in chaos.  Doesn't
matter how much they're policed.  Always happens, just
depends on degrees.

There are always going to be people with such strong
personalities that they constantly clash.  If they
can't suck it up, they should leave.  Although that
may deprive the list community of their knowledge, so
be it.
