4kq clutch

This is just a guess, but it's educated... BTDT. If the car lurched
when it wouldn't start, or if it sounded like there was resistance on the
drivetrain, I would conclude that the slave cylinder has blown itself all
over your clutch and lubricated it nicely, also at the same time releasing
all the hydraulic fluid in the clutch system, rendering your pedal
inoperative. This would mean that the pedal would have no feel to it at
all, and the clutch would definitely need to be replaced after soaking up
all that lubricant. If the car was in gear and you were just holding the
clutch in while trying to start, in this situation the car would actually be
in gear. Try starting the car while the shifter is in Neutral if this is
the case. This is an expensive and/or time consuming fix, but it is only
one of many possibilities in your situation. I just don't know of any that
would affect your cars ability to start.

Subject: 4kq clutch

My clutch finally decided to die on me but before it did, some strange
things happend....After coming to a complete stop at a red light, the clutch
appeared to be spent. In first gear, step on gas, nothing happens..But then
the clutch appears to have a little life left as the car leaped forward as
if nothing was wrong. I then reached for second gear.....couldn't move out
of first. I tried again and with a lot of force, I ripped it into second.
But now the smell of burnt clutch starts to fill my car and the RPM's shoot
up but the car is slowly coming to a hault. I've got my eye on the oil and
coolant guages and both are way above normal. I turn off the car and open
the hood to check the brake fluid resevoir and it's full. So I'm about a
block away from my house and really want the car to make it home. I was
thinking that maybe I could recreate what had happend at the red light.
Went to crank the car...won't start. Try it again...still won't start. I
guess my question would be, did I damage something else in the process of my
clutch dying? Or maybe it was the high engine/oil temp that prevented it
from starting. I haven't gotten the car home yet and since it's had a day
to cool down, I'll try it after work. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
