Is Geba the German brand, or the Italian brand?  I remember hearing
the Italian pumps make more noises than the "true" German pumps.

I think, but I'm not sure, that overtightening of the t-belt can also
cause water pumps to make noises.  I'd see what more experienced
listers have to say about my suggestion, but I could swear I read
something along these lines recently.
