Thanks to everybody on the list I know what I have to do to get COLD air! It's the flapper valve seal! To check if this is the problem, I cut out a piece of cardboard and attached it to the end of the airbox where that gooey screen sealer is then taped it up. Not a perfect seal, but good enough to prove to me that this is the problem, air leaking around the flapper valve (it got cooler than it's ever been, still not perfect, but MUCH better... So now all I have to do is replace that seal and I'll be chillin'! :D

Now comes the problem, anybody know how to remove the flapper valve. For the life I me I can't figure it out. Please come through one more time for me! Pretty please!!!

Well, the air in my 90Q is pretty cold in the mornings too, and it has
no compressor or condenser!

As far as the heater valve, eyeball it and make sure it looks like it is
moving "all the way" when the heater is set to cold, they have a
tendency to get unadjusted and not quite open or shut all the way. You
can also pull off one of the hoses and look inside it to make sure it is
closed, of course that will be a little messy, do it with the engine
cold, too, or it will be hot and messy.

> What are your thoughts on that flap seal? I held a lit cigarette near the flap with the AC on, it still sucked the smoke in, so I know some warm air is getting in. How much? No clue. is it enough to cause the AC to be not so cold? Not sure, but I'll soon find out. Any thoughts on the seal? Use an Audi part or any weather seal tape?

I would use whatever looks like the right thickness from the hardware
store. Closed cell foam weatherstrip ought to be just fine. That may
be your biggest problem, any air coming in through there goes nowhere
near the AC - it is also probably a less resistive route, so if it
leaks, air will come in that way more easily than thru the evaporator.
