How much snow will a quattro plow?

Living in Santa Cruz, California, I seldom get to drive in snow :(
Typically only once a year. Our most recent family snow trip was up at
Mt. Lassen (town of Mineral) and 14" of fresh snow fell over one of the
nights we were there. There were no serious hills in the immediate area
that morning so I can't answer the poster's question specifically, but,
the old 5ktq with Nokia NRWs did pretty darned good with this minimal
snow experience driver behind the wheel before the roads were plowed.
The woman who lived up there managing the rental cabins we were in
watched with a "you idiot, you're going to get stuck" look in her eyes
as I swept the snow off the windows, helped my 9 year old daughter into
the car, and drove off as if there was nothing on the ground at all for
a drive around the neighborhood. Same person's dorF 4x4 pickemup with
big knobby mud'n'snows, and plenty of snow driving experience, proceeded
to very nearly get stuck in the same stuff the old tq effortlessly
pushed it's way through in total control. I was impressed (so was the
cabin property manager). There comes a point where ground clearance
becomes an issue I'm sure, but in this case the low quattro fared much
better than that high ground clearance pickemup did.
