How plentiful are Golf/Jetta synchros?

I'm a little surprised this hasn't already been answered, so I'll do it.
The Passat was introduced in North America in 90 on the B3 frame with the
2.0 16V engine (code 9A), although I believe not here in Canada until 91.
This was also the first year for this engine in the GTi, GLi, and GTX. My
88 GTX was the 1.8L. According to my source the Quantum was discontinued
after the 88 season, the final motor being the 2.3L 5cyl (code KX). The
1.8L (JN) was discontinued in the Quantum in 85. There were other motors
available throughout the years, but those are the last years for those sizes
motors in that car.

I think you're right. They must have changed the name from Quantum to Passat
at some point (at least in the U.S.)
