Type 44 (5000/100/200) MANUAL steering rack?

right, untill the pump starts to leak, or one of the hoses etc...
Jorgen Automotive sells a manual rack for the early 5000's 78-83 I think the price was 125$ last time I looked. I was going to get one for my 87 5KTQ  but ended up just removing the pump and making a loop with the hoses. it works fine, parking at low speed is a bit of a pain but you get used to it. I also have a brake booster off of a '81? 5K turbo. bolted up with no problems at all.

You can use a rack from an early 5000 1978-1983 with brake booster pump and lines..

Or you can simply replace your rack with a reman unit and that will be the end of all your leaky rack problems.

AFAIK US 5000's never came with a manual rack.
