Yeah, thanks Kent. That was funny.
In Denmark there are books with "translitterations" of proverbs and other
sayings. The Danish books would only be funny if you understand Danish.
Things like Auld Lang Syne - if you are Danish-English bi-lingual - could be
understood as the drawing indicates: An old woman, holding a book she's
reading at arms length - Old and far-sighted. That one is from the book
"Engelske undersættelser". or English translitterations.
In the book "Danske undersættelser" There's a drawing of some ducklings in a
mote surrounding a fortress. Eyvind (and other Scandinavians) will
understand the subtext: "Fortællinger" - the English double meaning would be
"Fort Ducklings" (Fort-ællinger), but the correct translation of the word is
"Stories".
Playing on languages has always struck my funnybone.
