No turn signal, '81 4k 5+5

Yes it was a 2 door sedan, but not your average 2 door sedan. It was the precursor to the Coupe and was only available in 1981. It was a 2 door 4000 body with a 5 speed manual and 5 cylinder engine... lots of fun. It came with things like standard alloys (13", I think they were called snowflakes) and AC. There were VERY few 4k 5+5s made and even less in the USA. I once heard something like under 12,000 world wide and only a couple thousand in the USA. Mine was very unusual in that it had ZERO options on it, no sunroof, no radio, cloth seats. I miss her so (mom convinced me I needed something newer/more reliable when I went to collage back in 93). Never should have listened to mom...

Is the 5+5 the two door 4000 sedan?  If so, count me in on that one as well.  I'd love to find one of those in reasonable condition around in my area. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of these around anymore (rust?).  I did see two of them in junkyards, but both of them were pretty bashed up.

Also, on kind of the same subject, in one of the same yards, I saw a VW Quantum that I've never seen before.  If I recall correctly, it was two door and had a fastback "sporty" type of shape (sloping rear hatch/trunk, but not a wagon).  It looked pretty neat and maybe even had some kind of spoiler (stock) on it...did they make a lot of these? What was the model designation?  <<Insert thoughts of super-sleeper quantum fastback MC turbo here...>>
