HELP! type 44 5k/100/200 wierdness

Is the alt belt tight enough? I'd check the voltage regulator and brushes too. The
voltage should be 14.4-14.8V or something like that. Actually, Autozone and other
parts shops can do the test for free on a special rig that tests the output at speed.
Also check for corrosion of wires at the alt, battery, and the infamous crimp under
the passenger's carpet. Maybe there is something that is on its way out and
drawing too much current... Just throwing out possibilities. Are those lamps
installed w/ relays? If not, you should, and if so, check that there's no excess
current draw from the circuit. I'm against those 80/100 bulbs though. You should
be seeing fine w/ 55/60 in Euro lamps... I hate it when passing a car at night w/
those bright bulbs, even if they're not high-beams... they seem just as bright.
80/100 should be off-road only.
