Steering Wheel Knock Sound

Folks,

Getting a wierd knock sound when I turn the steering wheel full lock to the
left.  Noticed it this morning coming into work.  Wobbly steering at around
50-60 mph.  Stopped the car checked underneath.  Everything looked ok.
Turned the steering wheel full lock to the left and heard a single knock.
Went the other way and got the same single knock.

Got back in and drove slowly to work.  I have a ripped outer boot on the
left front side which I was going to replace this weekend.  Could I have a
bad CV joint?  Could it be something else?

Any ideas?
