Ya, I did the same on my 80 originally when it had the KH intake and TB, was
pretty jerky at throttle opening, swapping in another TB with the wedge cured
the jerkiness, another spring would help I can imagine as it increases the
resistance and you have more control over exactly how much it can open
initially.
