Key Won't Work

I have a '97 A6 Quattro.
I can't turn the key in the ignition; it works fine locking the doors.
A little history:
Had some fuses and relays out for several days.
Replaced the power seat switch last night.
Battery was dead this AM (switch stuck on overnight).
Charged the battery (able to turn key at that time).
Replaced the fuses and relays.
Now I cannot turn the key in the ignition.
The remotes still open and close the locks and all the electric
functions work (lights, seats, etc.).

Have I disabled the ignition somehow?
Any help appreciated.
