Now that the weather is nicer (41F/10C, no freezing rain),
I'm trying to replace the H4 bulbs in my '89 200 TQ Euro
lenses. I'm having trouble getting the white retainer
back into it's socket. I'm cutting up my hands trying to
press it in and twist it into it's slots. Tell me it's
do-able without removing the whole f'n headlight.
Thanks,
Kent

For the archives:
H4 Bulb Removal:
1. Pry back the metal wire retainer spring to release the
gray plastic cover.
2. Pull the 3-wire connector off the back of the bulb.
3. Twist the white retainer (there are two raised tabs)
1/8 turn counter clockwise, which releases the bulb.
H4 Bulb Install:
1. Without touching the glass of the bulb (clean it
with alcohol to remove finger oils), insert it so
the three prongs seat into the corresponding slots
on the back of the lens socket.
2. Lay the white retainer over the bulb, lining up its
prongs with the slots in the lens socket.
3. Press the white retainer and turn 1/8 turn clockwise.
4. Replace the 3-wire connector on the back of the bulb.
5. Replace the gray plastic cover, and secure it with the
wire retainer spring.
