transmission pinion bearing

I am looking for the pinion bearing for a 5 speed transmission. This is the=
 large bearing supporting the pinion at the ring gear. The part number is 0=
16 311 220 E. It is not available in the US. It must be shipped from German=
y and will cost $370.00. I don't wish to spend that much for what should be=
 a $50.00 bearing. Does anyone have an alternative solution?
