There's a '90 V8 on a lot here in Concord NH, $7995.

Bruce at AudiConnections.com has a few from $6K to $8.5K,
with the t-belts already done.

$2500 for a t-belt is way out of line -- more like $1000.
Can you change the t-belt yourself? It's quite complex and
requires special tools.

What else does it need? Are the brakes OK? Replacement UFOs
are costly. Converting to G60 brakes (if not already done)
may be a little cheaper. The auto transmission is another
big ticket item if it fails. Make sure it's not leaking or
slipping. Does the A/C put out cold air? Tough to test in
Chicago in winter?
