Good advice. Steel on steel can spark. Gas tank explosions are
exceptionally dangerous.
Thing is, when you are removing the lock ring, the tank is still sealed. No
fumes present to ignite.
Still, this is good advice and I recant my screwdriver comment. The brass
is the way to go.
