Doing it :)
Well with a little less rare 83 car Putting in an AAN engine out of a 93
S4. The only Permanent changes that I will be doing are the Fuse box in
the proper place under the hood (Fuse box and wiring harness from a
4000q) and the hole in the fender well for the rs2 Airbox. Both could be
fixed with a good welder and body person.
My thoughts are my car is not perfect, and never will be so I may as
well make it a lot more fun. Even going with a full paintjob inside and
out the car will not be perfect because it had been neglected by the
first owner ( Jack points not used, causing the floor boards for both
driver and passenger foot wells to be pushed up, The car also at one
point had huge speakers in the back, and had the rear parcel shelf metal
cut to pieces...)
How pristine is your 85? If it is a mint car or a very low mileage car
then you may want to think about getting another urQ for doing the
conversion.
