hey thanks for the info guys on the badging. I am also interested in the
headrests.
I will tell you all that I have been going over this car and finding more
and more things that have been altered by the previous owner - he did a nice
retrofit of the speakers with some sony speaker separates as well as a 10 cd
changer. but all the interior lights will not go out when the doors are
closed. both footwell lights have been de-bulbed.
Qestion 5 Aux Fan and Thermostat
okay, thermostat light came on and freaked me out. my belated 200 turbo had
a leaking radiator and i also replaced the thermostat for the fans twice. so
you could see my concern. my car was going down 294- south sort of like that
car Jack Lemmon drove in the Great Race !!! :(
luckily the reason was that the amount was low in the resevoir.
I have been driving it all day to study the cooling here in chicago - it was
over 50 today.
the temp is a little over the middle hash mark. doesn't go above. however,
the stage 2/aux fan hasn't been going on. When car is off , I guess the
whole thing cools down naturally. not like the 200 with that radiator that
would stay on for 10 minutes.
i'm used to the 200 fan (from hell) going on and draining my battery. the
v8 doesn't seem to have this situation. i've left the car running for 30
minutes but muy concern is with the 2nd fan go on.
my question - the aux fan is controlled by what - is that the
thermostat/diode that is placed behind the grille ( in front of the
radiator. the radiator feels cool so if that's it then great. otherwise,
if the mechanics disconnected / crimped the fan- i don't want to get into a
situation where i'm stranded with an overheated car.
thanks again for the badge info.
