My friend Gerald (non-lister) has a problem with his '93 100CSQA

Possibly relevant but not sure.

Cruise control failed to function about 1/2 hour before the real problem.
Fairly long highway cruise preceded this. Cruise was then left off, as
car was on a two lane.

Car was at a stop sign 1/2 hour later, started to idle rough.

Shortly fhereafter, at another stop sign, when taking off, car idle
extremely roughly, and had no power, entire car was shaking, loud sucking
or blowing sound from under the hood.

He pulled off the road, and noted that the sound seemed to come from
under the plastic cover over the "V" of the engine. Idle still very
rough, virtually no power to go up even slight upgrades, won't rev past
2K and the auto tranny shifted even lower than that. Couldn't check under
cover due to darkness, no flashlight, no tools.

Oil and water temps normal.

Slight wiff of raw fuel.

Shut off engine, check engine light goes off. Goes back on about 10
minutes later. Tried this again, again check engine light relights 10
minutes later.

No chance to pull codes.

Any ideas? Fuel injector blown loose? Car has had the injector recall
performed.
