Mid - Nineties Caprice. Also nicknamed Beluga (as in the Whale). The
Impala SS inserted the LT1 motor, did some very respectable suspension
work (from the Police/HD package), added some rather attractive 5-spoke
(I think) 17 wheels with respectable rubber, and most important, re-did
the rear wheel opening in much the same manner as Audi (mAC) did on the
type 44 20VT, which made the car look SOOOOO much better. Add black out
trim a tach and bucket seats and console shifter and the package was
essentially complete. It became the tow car of the better heeled members
of my local SCCA chapter. And it was a tow car with some serious hump to,
as that LT1 was pretty unrestricted for it's day.
