   1. NE Spring/Summer Get-It-Together (Kent McLean)

Personally works well for me. I't my old stomping grounds. I personally
know it's close to Gary Steinbrug and my non-lister 100CSQA friend. I
know the area quite well. Within 1/2 hr's drive FUN drive (on the road to
Limerock Park, there's a Go-Cart track (no BTDT unfortunately), it's
within another one 1 hr north in Valatia, a real nice Ranch with homemade
cider and doughnuts (okay, only in the fall), fun pretty roads
everywhere, good eats (I can think of a few in the town of Rhinebeck
proper, not more than 10 minutes south of the Aerodrome), lots of parking
(unfortunately grass) at the aerodrome, lots and lots of neat 19-teens
through thirty's machinery (mostly functional) at the Aerodrome itself,
and after the shows start, rather entertaining and skilled piloting, with
a demo of vintage airmail (think Naval arrestor hook aircraft carrier
landings but instead the hook grabs the packages), a Perils of Penelope
Pitstop type show, and WW1 Vintage Dogfights.

Oh, I forgot, in one of the towns just north of Rhinebeck, some of the
best Mexican food in Upstate NY.

Also a number of historic and totally scenic mansions and grounds which
would make totally awesome backdrops for photographing Audi's.

Things to be aware of in planning if this is the sight. The Dutchess
County Fairgrounds (just south of the Aerodrome) has many events which
can tie up traffic and make the local establishments rather difficult to
get into. The do have a Hot Rod weekend, which could be interesting
though, but I can guarantee that there will be no Audi's, Horch, DKW,
Ro80 or the like at that show. It's strickly (from what I've seen from
the other side of the fence) pure 'Merican Iron.

The area is reasonably accessible. From the East, it's near the Taconic
Parkway, which connects I-90 to
I-87 (i.e. Albany-NYC), it's on US Rt. 9 (but that can be slow) its
connected to I-87 from the West by the Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge.
Anyway, that's my inflation adjusted $0.03.

LL-NY - Nanuet, NY ~ 74 miles, 1.5 hrs
