a)purchase any aftermarket head unit
b)make sure all speakers are working
c)purchase Soundgate adapter(call them for which adapter, and be sure
to specify the per-channel wattage of the unit)- about $80-90.

You need to spend about 30 minutes carefully matching various wires
up between the harness for the soundgate, the harness the radio came
with, and a harness(such as what Crutchfield would give you) that
goes between the soundgate and the car.

The end result is an adapter that plugs into 2-3 connectors on the
car, then plugs into a few connectors on the radio. Test radio to
make sure there isn't an unacceptable noise(it may need better
grounding), then replace radio. Done.
