The 12valve V6 hides the thermostat behind the timing belt,
unfortunately. I'm know some listers have replaced their thermostats
without having to remove the t-belt, but I seem to recall that it was
difficult.
Unbelievable to think that a simple thermostat problem is a $300 bill,
isn't it? Personally, I'm running a bit cold on colder days, but unless
the thing goes completely south on me, I'll wait until my next timing
belt change at the end of next year.
