Excellent point!  My '85 Vanagon Westfalia required far fewer repairs in the
past 1.5 years of ownership and over 30 K of driving, than my now-gone '93
F*rd Aerostar that I sold with 123 K in its final 1.5 years.  My Vanagon and
my Audi are both easier, don't laugh here, to work on, and I am not making
any payments on them!

We get the panache and fun of driving an Audi without the price of semi-new
car ownership.  Heck, they're only new until you drive them off the dealer's
lot.

My plan is to buy a lower mileage, say 130K to 150K, 90Q, or 5KQT Wagon,
maintain them myself and drive them for another 150K or so.
