My 1987 cstq sedan has started to exhibit some vagueness on the road. While
the ride seems firm enough, the steering is not as precise as I remember it
to be, and the car is much more susceptible to cross-winds than I can
remember. My mechanic tightened the steering rack a couple of months ago,
and there was the perception of an improvement, but I was not very certain
that there was. At that time, he said that the tie-rod ends looked good.

The car has 170k miles on it, the tires (Pirelli P400 Touring) have 20k
miles. The shocks were replaced nearly 70k miles ago, and the control arm
bushings were replaced 6k miles ago. The steering rack has about 60k miles
on it. The rear suspension bushings were replaced about 60 k miles ago as
well.

Is the car due for a major suspension bushings overhaul ? What should start
with in terms of considering replacement ? Should it be the tie-rod first ?

This car is my daily driver (6o mi roundtrip). Its slight vagueness on the
road is starting to bug me.

Thanks in advance.
