4.2l twin turbo v8 with 331kw (450hp), and 560nm (413ft lb) torque between
1950 and 5600, while meeting the eu3 emissions standard is truly impressive.
btw, this is a neckarsulm engine, not a cosworth one. performance of
0-100km in 4.9 and 0-200km in 18s with auto is also very impressive. tip
auto only. no manual. the tip has interlocks to prevent upshifts during
cornering (based on lateral 'g' inputs).

braking also looks to have received attention with 8-piston callipers
clamping 365mm rotors up front, and 335mm rotors with single piston
callipers at the rear. as with the rs4, there is a floating arrangement for
the rotors using pins to clamp them to the alloy hats.

most notable for me though is the "drc" system. this is citroen-esque in
that it links the shocks diagonally and moves oil from one to the other to
avoid pitch (imo, the bugbear of most modern audi's since the ur-q, s3
excepted) and roll. these are "almost entirely eliminated" according to the
pr blurb. this sounds very interesting, and hopefully signals similar
developments on other cars.

car looks great, and nice that it is available in a sedan form. i also like
the bootlid spoiler on the sedan, as i find the boot too rounded on the
normal car. 18" (255/40 tyres) or optional 19" wheels (255/35 tyres) also
look good.
