Audi 50 in US?

I've been a fan of the A1 chassis VW's for a long time and was very
interested when I found out that Audi actually manufactured a car called the
Audi 50 in Europe in the mid to late 70's that appears to be about the same
size/format as a rabbit.

Actually it's *not* a rabbit, but the smaller Polo, which I believe is a
little smaller than the VW Fox.
