The Audi 50 is a lot smaller than the Rabbit, the 50 is identical to the
car more commonly known as the VW Polo. 1st generation, that is. The 50
was introduced as Audi first but VW had made plans to bring the Audi
brand a bit closer to the Mercedes/BMW status so the 50 didnt fit in. A
few new badges and a new car was born. The VW Polo. My sister had a 79
Polo and I can tell you that these cars are tiny, interior room is about
the same as in a Bug.

It seems like a nice little car and would definitely turn some heads here in the US (at least among VAG fans like us).

I recently saw a rabbit done up like an Audi 50 (using an Audi grill), but that's the closest thing I've seen. I know that it's possible to bring in older European cars that were never imported to the US if you jump through a BUNCH of hoops then put a lien on your first born (my father wanted to bring in a Citroen 2CV and looked into it). So...does anyone have one or know of one in the US?
