Avi-
If you haven't read enough of my inane postings to know by now,
I call stuff the way I see it- I have no need to pull punches here,
I'd rather be direct and honest.
My motive for bringing this is up clear- _everyone_ on the list seems
to be happy with your product, I wanted to present my experience as
an example of one that was not so positive. I made it clear that you
refunded my money w/o question.
As for "slamming you," you repeatedly say that your alternator was fine.
I clearly spelled out to you what the problem was- the commutator was
not machined smooth, it was bumpy and grooved, visibly. You denied that
there was any problem with it. After talking to some others, including
people on the list, I was assured that in a good rebuild, the commutator
would be smooth, without any bumps or grooves. Yours wasn't.
Whether you were able to bench test it at the output you claimed or not,
this is not an adequate rebuild in the eyes of several automotive
service
professionals. I stand by their judgment. The problem with the
commutator
raised doubts as to whether the alternator would be capable of a
sustained
output at that level, as the brushes would not be worn evenly and gaps
thus
created would eventually cause a loss of output.
Heck, you didn't even seem to know what a commutator was. I'm not going
to
post your emails to the list, so it's really a "he said, she said" kind
of
dialogue. If you don't like someone posting a bad experience with your
product, go ahead and file suit against me for libel. I have no bad
intent
in this, just bringing to light a bad experience so that other listers
may
know the bad with the good.
The fact that you weren't willing to admit that you may have given me a
bad
rebuild is troublesome to me. What I would have done, in your shoes, is
send
out a call tag for the "bad" alternator and FedEx the customer a new
one.
By taking this extra step, you would ensure satisfaction and everyone
would be
happy. As you have stated, most of your customers have been very
satisfied
with your product. As I said previously, I will not use nor would I
recommend
your product.
Sincerely,
Taka Mizutani
