Suppression condenser?

Evening all,
In the process of swapping the alternator out on my piece of $hit
wagon and ran across a discrepancy between the replacement and the
original equipment.
The replacement alternator is a Bosch rebuild that had done 30K of
service on my old 200q.
The discrepancy is that the rebuilt alternator is missing what the
family album refers to as a "suppression condenser" (FA
A20Q/89/9/03/150-00 -- Audi #056 903 291) that is actually present on
the OE alternator that I'm removing.
Is this something that I really need to be concerned about? Should I
not worry about it since the alternator worked just fine on my old
200q, or should I pull the suppression condenser off the old
alternator and install it on the new one?
For reference, the piece of $hit in question is a 1989.5 200qa.
TIA!
-Gary
