95 S6 Tranny Problem, HELP!!!

Sounds like wearing synchros. Are you running GL4 or GL5 gear oil? You
should be using GL4 in the gearbox. I had similar symptoms, changed out
the oil to Redline MT90 (Redline CLAIMS that their additives for synchros
are more effective than others) and the problems have gradually gone
away. Not totally certain if its the oil, but if it is, it works
miracles. BTW, MTL has the same additives, it's just somewhat thinner. If
you live in a really cold clime, it would be fine, if you live in
continental US, I'd go MT90. Try it, it's only about $8-9 a bottle
(you'll need 3), a lot cheaper than a rebuild/swap.
